Acclaimed Navajo Weaver Nanabah Aragon presents weaving workshop
Navajo Weaver Nanabah Aragon

Dine (Navajo) weaver Nanabah Aragon will be presenting a special two-day weaving workshop, in which she will teach you the basics of Navajo weaving as you learn the techniques passed on from her mother and grandmother and create your own sample.

Nanabah is a Master Navajo traditional weaver who was declared a “Living Treasure” by the State of Arizona. After being sent off to a government school at a young age, she learned from her mother how to weave using traditional techniques, and she continues that tradition to this day. Nanabah’s weavings have been on display at the Heard Museum in Phoenix and at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C.
